Configuring the Database Listener for External Procedures (Doc ID 161634.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 09, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Fusion Middleware - Version 9.0.2.0.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

In order for the Database Cache to configure and properly work, you must configure the
origin database listener so that it listens for external procedure calls. This should be
done before the 9iAS Enterprise Edition Install, to enable the Configuration Assistant to
finish the configuration.

Notes:

1. The below information is intended to check the external procedure configuration, NOT
replace the full documentation in the Install Guide.

2. It is assumed that the origin database is on a separate machine. If the origin database
is on the same machine as 9iAS, then additional steps need to be taken. Please see the
Install Guide Appendix for these specific Instructions.

3. If configuring the database cache manually from the wtacca script, please follow the
additional steps in the Install guide specific to the Database Cache Component.
