How to resolve the error message 'Hostname verification failed: HostnameVerifier=weblogic.security.utils.SSLWLSHostnameVerifier' ?

Problem Description

General runtime error: Hostname verification failed: HostnameVerifier=weblogic.security.utils.SSLWLSHostnameVerifier, hostname=soaweb03
from OSB proxy/business to SOA composite over HTTP gets the above error.
OSB is configured to use a proxy on OHS to get out to external services too.
