Symptoms

Applying Oracle Virtual Directory (OVD) 11g <Patch 17391582> 11.1.1.7.1 for integrating with Oracle Identity Manager (OIM) and Oracle Access Manager (OAM).

The Patch fails with:

Oracle Home : <ORACLE_HOME>
Central Inventory :<ORACLE_BASE>/oraInventory
  from : <ORACLE_HOME>//oraInst.loc
OPatch version : 11.1.0.9.9
OUI version : 11.1.0.9.0
Log file location :<ORACLE_HOME>/cfgtoollogs/opatch/17391582_Feb_14_2014_11_33_04/apply2014-02-14_11-33-03AM_1.log


OPatch detects the Middleware Home as "<ORACLE_HOME>"

Applying interim patch '17391582' to OH '<ORACLE_HOME>'

Prerequisite check "CheckApplicable" failed.

OPatch failed with error code 39


Tried creating the domain with JRF and reran the patch again, but still receiving the same error message.

The opatch apply<date_time>.log shows:
