ODSEE - Why are Connection Messages Ending with A1 and / or B1 Codes? (Doc ID 1625840.1)

Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)

Goal

The following messages are being logged in the access log every 5 mins:


conn=252 op=-1 msgId=-1 - fd=17 slot=17 LDAP connection from <CLIENT_IP>:<PORT> to <SERVER_IP>
conn=252 op=0 msgId=0 - RESULT err=80 tag=120 nentries=0 etime=0

For example:

[06/Feb/2014:00:03:50 +0800] conn=247 op=-1 msgId=-1 - fd=17 slot=17 LDAP connection from <CLIENT_IP>:<PORT> to <SERVER_IP>
[06/Feb/2014:00:03:50 +0800] conn=247 op=0 msgId=0 - RESULT err=80 tag=120 nentries=0 etime=0
[06/Feb/2014:00:03:50 +0800] conn=247 op=-1 msgId=-1 - closing from <CLIENT_IP>:<PORT> - B1 - Client request contains an ASN.1 BER tag that is corrupt or connection aborted -
[06/Feb/2014:00:03:50 +0800] conn=247 op=-1 msgId=-1 - closed.
[06/Feb/2014:00:08:50 +0800] conn=248 op=-1 msgId=-1 - fd=17 slot=17 LDAP connection from <CLIENT_IP>:<PORT> to <SERVER_IP>
[06/Feb/2014:00:08:50 +0800] conn=248 op=0 msgId=0 - RESULT err=80 tag=120 nentries=0 etime=0
[06/Feb/2014:00:08:50 +0800] conn=248 op=-1 msgId=-1 - closing from <CLIENT_IP>:<PORT> - A1 - Client aborted connection -
