WLS 12.1.2 Managed Servers take a Long Time to Start on Solaris 11 when Admin Server Listens on localhost (Doc ID 1627400.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 17, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle WebLogic Server - Version and later
Oracle Solaris on x86-64 (64-bit)

A Weblogic Server (WLS) domain is configured on a local zone of a Solaris 11 (x64) machine. When the Admin Server is listening on localhost, any Managed Server in the domain takes 10 minutes to start. When the Admin Server is listening on a physical host name, the Managed Server starts within a minute. The issue persists, regardless of whether the default weblogic.socket.NIOSocketMuxer is used, or whether weblogic.socket.PosixSocketMuxer or weblogic.socket.DevPollSocketMuxer is used. Note that WLS with the same JDK 1.7 on the same server does not have this problem.
