Symptoms

An Oracle FMW 11g Release 1 Web Tier has been successfully installed and configured in standalone mode with no domain association.

Subsequently it is decided to register the Instance containing Oracle HTTP Server (OHS) against an existing Application Development framework (ADF) 11.1.2.4 domain so that  OHS can be managed using the Fusion Middleware Control application (em).
