[EclipseLink-3003] "Incorrect Date Format" Exception Occurs When Unmarshalling XML Document (Doc ID 1642566.1)

Symptoms

Using Eclipselink JAXB provider from WLS 12.1 version,  in a Webservice context, when  unmarshalling XML document  to Java classes ,
the following  exception occurs  :

Caused by: Exception [EclipseLink-3003] (Eclipse Persistence Services -
2.3.2.v20111125-r10461): org.eclipse.persistence.exceptions.ConversionException
Exception Description: Incorrect date format: [09/04/1983] (expected
[YYYY-MM-DD])
       at org.eclipse.persistence.exceptions.ConversionException.incorrectDateFormat(Con
versionException.java:103)
       at org.eclipse.persistence.internal.oxm.XMLConversionManager.convertStringToXMLGr
egorianCalendar(XMLConversionManager.java:687)
       at org.eclipse.persistence.internal.oxm.XMLConversionManager.convertStringToCalendar(XMLConversionManager.java:798)

This problem occurs after migrating from 10.3.x version to 12.1.1 version of WLS.
