OWB Control Center Service Fails To Start And is Using Connection Details Of Original Database After Cloning (Doc ID 1645288.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 01, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Warehouse Builder - Version 10.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After having cloned the OWB repository database, starting the Control Center Service fails and is using host, port, service and server_side_home from the original database. Errors (ORA-29532) have been observed when this issue occurs, but not in all cases.

When checking Repository tables WB_RT_SERVICE_NODES and OWBRTPS, all values are correct pointing to the new cloned database. Still, start_service.sql is using the old values of the original OWB Repository database.

E.g. On the cloned OWB Repository database, table OWBRTPS and WB_RT_SERVICE_NODES might look like this:

Changes

The issue can occur after having cloned the OWB Repository database and trying to start the Control Center Service in the cloned database.
