ADF AutoSuggest Popup Not Working Properly With Af:InputText After Validation Error (Doc ID 1905032.1)

Symptoms

If a required InputText is left blank it shows a pop-up with the validation error, this is normal behavior.
However, if after the error a value is selected from the SuggestList, it populates the InputText but the list popup does not close after selection.
Whenever any validation is done on this InputText, the SuggestionList popup will not close after selection.
This appears to be independent of the browser used.
