Creating a Custom Table Using Lowercase or Mixed Case Columns Called "url" Will Break the Thumbnail View
Last updated on MARCH 21, 2017
Applies to:
Oracle WebCenter Content - Version 11.1.1.5.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
When creating a custom table containing a column called "url" in either lowercase or mixed-case OR when adding a custom field called "url" to an existing table will prevent OracleTextSearch from successfully indexing the
weblayout URL value.
This can have various side-effects:
- The URL column in the IDCTEXTx table will be populated with NULL values
- The "url" value in the SearchResults resultset returned by the GET_SEARCH_RESULTS service will be blank
- The thumbnail view will no longer display thumbnails. The links will be broken (in 11.1.1.8) or the thumbnail view page may break with the following error (in 11.1.1.5)
- "Unable to generate HTML page. Unable to evaluate function. System execution error. computeRenditionUrl Null pointer is dereferenced"
