Applies to:
Oracle WebLogic Server - Version 12.1.2.0.0 to 12.1.3.0.0 [Release 12c]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
When the system is configured with a virtual interface and the virtual IP is configured in the listen-address WebLogic 12.1.2 uses this virtual IP instead of the real IP.
The behavior is different in previous releases: in previous releases, although the listen address was configured with the Virtual IP, the IP used for the outbound connection was the real IP address.
For example:
- Set an interface and virtual interface
You can observe that the IP used as the source IP in the case of WLS 12.1.2 is the virtual IP (in this example <IP>) while the source IP in the case of WLS 10.3.6 is the real IP (in the example <IP>).
It can cause connectivity problems when the Virtual IP doesn't have internet access.
