Dynamic Javascripts Generated By Pagelet Producer Are Using HTTP Instead of HTTPS in WebCenter Portal (Doc ID 1920650.1)

Last updated on MARCH 09, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.8.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

We consume some legacy services as pagelets, through Pagelet Producer.
In our architecture, there is a LBR (F5's BigIP) front-ending all user's requests, which is maintains the secure channel between the portal and the user's browsers. Below it we have some Apache servers, that receive the now nonsecured requests and redirect them to the correct WebLogic servers, using the WebLogic Plugin.

Our problem is, when the requests reach the Pagelet Producer, they are all in HTTP, not HTTPS anymore, so all the dynamic javascripts generate by Pagelet Producer are in HTTP
When these javascripts return to the user in HTTP, the browser issues lots of errors, because Pagelet Producer is being consumed in an iframe with HTTPS: https://hostname.domain/pagelets
