Goal

This article provides a high level guidelines and best practices for User Interface (UI) customization in Oracle Identity Manager (OIM).  It is primarily targeted for users or developers who are involved in the customization of out-of-box UI for Oracle Identity Governance(OIG) based on their business needs.

The article also provides a good perspective of IT Managers to help them plan their customization releases using sandboxes following the standard software development life cycle process.

OIM is an identity management product that identity administration functionalities such as password management, workflow and policy management, identity reconciliation, reporting and auditing, and extensibility through adapters.  OIM is part of Oracle Identity Management (IDM) Suite.

This article assumes that the reader is familiar with the OIG as well as with the customization feature present in all OIM releases post Release 11.1.2.0.0.
