How to Upgrade the JDBC Drivers to a Later Release In Oracle Portal 11g ? (Doc ID 1933675.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 13, 2018

Applies to:

Portal - Version 11.1.1.6.0 to 11.1.1.6.0 [Release FMW11g]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

By default, Fusion Middleware 11gR1 (11.1.1.7) includes the Oracle JDBC Driver version 11.1.0.7.0. For an installation with Oracle Portal 11g, the JDBC driver version can be verified from the WLS_PORTAL.log file :

####<Aug 30, 2014 5:58:14 PM CEST> <Info> <JDBC> <portal.acme.org> <WLS_PORTAL1> <DmsThread-1> <> <> <0000KWazcf8Fg4WFLzqIOA1K0SdF000002> <1409414294226> <BEA-001517> <Data source connection pool "PortletDS" using Driver: "Oracle JDBC driver", Version: "11.1.0.7.0-Production".>

There may be reasons to upgrade this version to a later release, e.g. to match the driver with the version of the Portal metadata repository database. This document provides instructions to upgrade the JDBC driver to release 11.2.
