Symptoms

Definition of a serializer by an <instance> element with a <factory-class-name>, where the factory class's getSerializer() method returns an Object instead of a Serializer, succeeds in Coherence versions up to and including 12.1.2, but fails in 12.1.3, so that a cluster node with such a cache configuration fails to start.
