ODI 11g Studio Hangs On Opening a Duplicated Interface When Repositories Hosted In a Microsoft SQL Server Database

Symptoms
When an ODI User, assigned the NG Designer Profile, duplicates an Integration Interface and in the same session tries to open the duplicated interface, ODI Studio hangs indefinitely on Editor Creation....
At this point, when executing following SQL statement in SQL Server Management Studio, the query also hangs:
The only way to resolve this situation is to kill the ODI Studio process (for example, using Windows Task Manager).
Having killed ODI Studio the above SQL instruction returns successfully.
When logging in once again using the NG Designer User account, the User can now open the duplicated interface.
