Mismatched Expiry Times Between the Front and Back Caches in a Near Cache Can Lead to Entries Not Being Refreshed As Expected (Doc ID 1936966.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 30, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Coherence - Version 12.1.2.0.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In a Coherence environment using the refresh-ahead feature in the back cache of a Near cache, the entries in the cache are not refreshed during the refresh-ahead interval, hence when the entries expire there is a performance penalty for subsequent hits as they need to be refreshed from the database.
