After Upgrade To WebCenter Content 11.1.1.8 (BP7) Users Have Missing Roles Upon Login (Doc ID 1942146.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 21, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Content - Version 11.1.1.8.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Using WebCenter Content 11.1.1.8.0PSU-2014-09-04 00:14:28Z-r120579 (Bundle Patch 7) on Linux.

The environment was upgraded from WebCenter Content 11.1.1.6 to WebCenter Content 11.1.1.8 BP7.

Credential map and user/role mapping has not changed after the upgrade.

Since the upgrade to WCC 11.1.1.8 BP7, some users have some missing roles.  Not all users are affected.  The roles are missing until they update their User Profile.  After the profile update, the correct roles are granted.

Tracing shows that group retrieval from OID for the users works like expected including the mapping (through credential map).  But at the end of the trace, some roles are missing.

Steps to reproduce:

In OID (or any other LDAP server):

  1. Create a user called testuser
  2. Create 3 groups:  test1, test2, test3
  3. Add testuser as a member to the 3 groups test1, test2, test3

In WebCenter Content:

  1. Create roles test1, test2, tst3 (note: not test3)
  2. Add following lines to the credential map:
         test1, test1
         test2, test2
         test3, tst3

Restart WebCenter Content

Login to WebCenter Content as testuser and go to the User Profile by clicking on the user name:

Result: not all 3 roles are granted

Click on Update to update the profile, and go back to the User Profile:

Result: test1, test2 and tst3 roles are granted.
