Attaching to a GlassFish Instance's Admin JMX Port Causes The Instance's Runtime Default Realm to be Reset to "file" (Doc ID 1946420.1)

Symptoms

Connecting to a GlassFish instance using JConsole changes the default realm to the file based realm, preventing application users from being authenticated against the custom realm that has been set as the default.

Prior to the connection being made to the JMX admin port the following output can be seen with FINE logging, revealing logins occurring for a JDBCRealm, which is set as the default in the domain configuration:
