OID 11g - oidstats.sql Running Often / All Day Gathering Stats, Causing Performance Issues During Heavy Workload
(Doc ID 1968162.1)
Last updated on MARCH 06, 2023
Applies to:
Oracle Internet Directory - Version 11.1.1.4.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
The Oracle Internet Directory (OID) 11g (11.1.1.4 or higher) oidstats.sql process is running many times during the day, kicking off the query that gathers statistics for the ODS.DS_ATTRSTORE table.
The oidmon.log file reports:
Can the oidstats.sql process be configured to not run so often, especially during heavy workloads?
For example, there is a Resource Manager setting which kills queries that run over 20s, and this problem query is being killed. Changing this run interval/time is needed as an alternative method to killing the SQL statements that are gathering statistics.
