Thumbnail For Documents Checked Into WebCenter Content Not Visible In WebCenter Portal Search (Doc ID 1986712.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 08, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.6.0 to 11.1.1.8.6 [Release 11g]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

WebCenter Portal (WCP) 11.1.1.6.0 integrated with WebCenter Content (WCC) and IBR is not consistently showing the 'Thumbnail' view of a file from within WebCenter Document Explorer task flow. Instead it shows a 'red cross' or broken image link.

The URL for the image is http://<HOSTNAME>/webcenter/content/conn/wcs1_connect/uuid/dDocName:1024281?rendition=T and the browser returns this message:

@Properties LocalData
ClientEncoding=UTF-8
ECID-Context=ECID
IdcService=GET_DYNAMIC_URL
IsJava=1
NoHttpHeaders=0
SctParentSequence=365620
SctSequence=365620
StatusCode=-32
StatusMessage=Error accessing file '<FILE_ID>\@<FILE_NAME>.jpg' for download. The error was caused by an internally generated issue. The error has been logged.
UserDateFormat=iso8601
UserTimeZone=UTC
blDateFormat=yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ssZ!tUTC
...
...
...
@end

WCC and WCP are within the same Weblogic Domain on a Linux platform, and IBR is installed in a different domain on Windows platform.
The thumbnails are visible within WCC directly.

Sometimes if the document gets a red cross in spaces, if it is searched for in WCC in thumbnail view, then WCP is checked again, and right click and Show Picture, then it displays.
