Last updated on DECEMBER 18, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Content - Version 11.1.1.6.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

In a enterprise system it is common to have large number of users using Webcenter Content server and this at times can become a performance bottleneck when users are doing the following actions :

1. Content Check-in

2. Framework Folders creation

In both the cases the bottleneck arises from the "Author" or "Owner" metadata fields which would take very long to populate all the users .

This scenario can be resolved by making both the fields Read Only, so that only the relevant user is displayed and it does not list all the provisioned users . This article describes the steps to achieve this requirement for point 2 above viz making Owner field non-editable .
