Change to Admin Server Port is Lost After Extending Domain (Doc ID 1994439.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 21, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle WebLogic Server - Version 10.3.6 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After changing the port for the admin server, e.g. from the default 7001 to a new port, the change was also made to the ADMIN_URL in the startManagedWebLogic and stopManagedWebLogic scripts for the managed servers. This allowed the managed servers to start and stop correctly and to connect as expected to the admin server. However, when the domain was then extended using the configuration wizard, the extended domain had the old port number in the ADMIN_URL for the startManagedWebLogic and stopManagedWebLogic scripts. The ADMIN_URL uses "servername:7001" rather than "servername:<NEW PORT>" in these files.

Changes

Changed the port number for the admin server from the default (in this case, from 7001 to <NEW PORT>).
