Oracle Traffic Director Fails To Maintain Session Persistence When Proxying Requests To Oracle Forms Cluster (Doc ID 1995419.1)

Last updated on JULY 10, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle Traffic Director - Version 11.1.1.6 and later
Oracle Forms - Version 11.1.1.1.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Oracle Traffic Director (OTD) is configured to front-end a cluster of Oracle Forms application. Access to http://OTD_servername:port/forms/frmservlet?config=rms returns runtime error as shown in below screenshot:

The formsapp-diagnostic.log has errors similar to the following:

[2015-03-25T09:11:43.108-03:00] [WLS_FORMS1] [ERROR] [FRM-93614] [oracle.forms.servlet] [tid: 88] [userId: <anonymous>] [ecid: zy2000IB000000000,0:1] [APP: formsapp#11.1.2] [FORMS_SESSION_ID: WLS_FORMS.formsapp.94858] [SRC_CLASS: oracle.forms.servlet.ListenerServlet$Request] [SRC_METHOD: forwardResponseFromRunform] invalid or absent Content-Length from runtime process

If OTD is configured to proxy requests to an origin server pool that contains only one Forms server (as opposed to a cluster of Forms servers), the access to Forms application via OTD is successful.
