Out Of Memory Error browsing JMS messages from WebLogic console (Doc ID 2000269.1)

Symptoms

When trying to delete a large number of JMS messages in the WebLogic admin console, navigating to Services -> JMS Modules -> SystemModule-0 -> Queue-0 -> Monitoring tab, clicking on Show messages, and selecting one message and tring to delete it, the following error is received and an out of memory error is thrown on the server which hosts the JMS queue:
