WLS AdminConsole Access Over SSL Fails with "java.io.IOException: extra data given to DerValue constructor" (Doc ID 2001812.1)

Symptoms

On WLS 10.3.6 and JDK 1.6.0_43:

DemoIdentity and DemoTrust used for SSL secure AdminServer.

Admin Console access with https port does not work
http://<listen-address>:<listen-port>/console 

With DebugSSL enabled, the error messages below are noted in AdminServer.log at time of access to AdminConsole over SSL:
