"Sites Ping status: Unknown error" with com.fatwire.EclipseCSDT_11.1.1.v8_0_r170101 (Doc ID 2010812.1)

Symptoms

Unable to connect to Sites in eclipse. On the Window > Preferences > Oracle WebCenter Sites > see red light with message:

Sites Ping status:
Unknown error

 

For connecting to a local Sites instance (http), the Instance field is pointing to the [sites_install_dir]. In the Scheme filed, "http:" is automatically populated.

For connecting to a remote Sites instance, the Instance field has a value in the format of [host]:[port]/[path]. In the Scheme field, it is blank.

 

Possible error in eclipse Error log:


Unable to create view ID com.fatwire.csdt.CSConsoleView: No enum constant com.fatwire.csdt.util.Constants.SupportedSchemes.

 

Changes

In eclipse, the CSDT plugin was updated with com.fatwire.EclipseCSDT_11.1.1.v8_0_r170101 from WebCenter Sites 11.1.1.8.0 Patch 9 or 10.
