Last updated on JULY 21, 2023

Applies to:

JDBC - Version 12.1.0.2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 12.1.0.2.0 version, Thin JDBC driver

JDBC thin connection is not working when one instance of a 2 node RAC Database is shut down.
Listener configuration / behavior has been verified.

-- When Node A has its database instance shutdown or crash, the JDBC connections hang and go into pending status.

WebLogic Server is using the next configuration:

1] Regular data-source
2] Using SCAN on the URL JDBC
3] The minimum number of connection is 1

When the first node in the RAC is stopped, the problem is produced; if the second node is stopped. all works fine.
