BEA-240003 Administration Console encountered the following error: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Cannot have -ve timeout (Doc ID 2031248.1)

Last updated on JUNE 20, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle WebLogic Server - Version 12.1.3.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

WebLogic Server failed to start. The following error is seen in the logs:

Detailed steps to reproduce:

  1. Using the WebLogic Admin Console, if the managed server is requested to start, the request fails immediately. On the console a cancel message in red is shown with the text: canceled: Cannot have -ve timeout But the attempt to start is not actually performed in the managed server because the logs do not show any entry related to the request to start. In the AdminServer log file a stack trace with the error Cannot have -ve timeout is logged.
  2. When the start script DOMAIN_HOME/bin/startManagedWebLogic.sh is run, it executes some startup actions and then aborted with the same error.
