IE 11 issues with WebCenter Sites (Doc ID 2035395.1)

Goal

Qn1: The solution in the Doc ID 1602727.1 works, however due to company policy, we are unable to change this settings easily and wondering if there is any other workaround besides using other browsers ?
 
Qn2: Will IE 11 be supported/certified for WebCenter Sites 11.1.1.8.0?
