Is It Possible To Refine the Search Results on Any Metadata Field in the Content UI?

Goal
On: 11.1.1.8.0 version, Content Server:
In the Content UI, after you run a search and are presented with the search results, you can click the down arrow in the text search box. When doing that, you can refine the search results further, based on a limited set of metadata fields (Account, Type, and Security Group), along with Documents Authored by you, Favorited by you, and Followed by you.
Is it possible to customize this to refine the results based on any other metadata fields?
