Error Message 'java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (oracle.security.jps.service.audit.AuditStoreAccessPermission webcenter#11.1.1.4.0 read)' Causing Auditing Functionality To Be Unavailable (Doc ID 2044265.1)

Symptoms

In a clustered WebCenter Portal environment, auditing has been configured according to the instructions in the documentation guide Fusion Middleware Administering Oracle WebCenter Portal. The log level was changed from NONE to LOW and audit location was set to file. Audit records are not written to file however even after executing specific tasks in WebCenter Portal which should trigger an audit record to be written to the audit log.

In the application log file (WC_Spaces-diagnostics.log), the following entry related to auditing is logged :

java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (oracle.security.jps.service.audit.AuditStoreAccessPermission webcenter#11.1.1.4.0 read)
at java.security.AccessControlContext.checkPermission(AccessControlContext.java:376)
at java.security.AccessController.checkPermission(AccessController.java:549)
at oracle.security.jps.util.JpsAuth$AuthorizationMechanism$3.checkPermission(JpsAuth.java:463)
...
