Applies to:

Oracle Application Express (APEX) - Version 4.2.1 and later
Oracle REST Data Services - Version 3.0.0 and later
Oracle Database Exadata Express Cloud Service - Version N/A and later
Oracle Database Exadata Cloud Machine - Version N/A and later
Oracle Database Cloud Exadata Service - Version N/A and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

The goal is to install and configure ORDS without being prompted to install the ORDS schemas (ORDS_PUBLIC_USER and ORDS_METADATA).

The default installation/configuration of ORDS 3.0.X assumes the ORDS schemas will be installed.  Installing these schemas requires that the ORDS schema installation steps be accomplished by a user with SYSDBA privileges.

The ORDS schemas are not required for APEX usage.  These schemas are only needed if one wishes to use Oracle RESTful Web Services outside of APEX.
