On WLS 10.3.4, Changing Buffer Size For Access.log Does not Make An Effect (Doc ID 2059544.1)

Last updated on MAY 10, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle WebLogic Server - Version 10.3.4 to 10.3.5
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

On WLS 10.3.4, in order to make WLS output access log on $DOMAIN_HOME/servers/(server name)/logs/access.log,
an operation described below is done.

  1.  On admin console, access as this way:
environment -> server -> (any server name) -> logging tab -> general tab -> advance section
  2. In the item of Log File Buffer, input "0".
  3. Restart WLS to apply this change.

With this change, it is expected when there is an access to application, the data of access will be output on access.log immediately. However, immediate output cannot be observed.
(Author confirmed this issue can be reproduced on WLS 10.3.5, too.)

How can the setting be done to make WLS output the log immediately?
