Deploy of Custom Application Breaks Prior Deployment of Different Application (Doc ID 2071687.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 02, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.8.6 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Attempting to deploy two custom WebCenter Portal (WCP) EAR files to a custom Managed Server. If only one is deployed, it works. When deploying the second one, it breaks the first one. If the order is changed of the deploy, the one that failed before now works and the other that worked now fails. Coherence is configured and a connection is defined to WebCenter Content (WCC).

If using different connection names then the issue doesn't reproduce.

The WC_CustomPortal managed server will show the following errors when reproducing the issue:

[2015-09-01T02:20:24.558+00:00] [WC_CustomPortal] [NOTIFICATION] [J2EE JSP-00008] [oracle.j2ee.jsp] [tid: [ACTIVE].ExecuteThread: '12' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'] [userId: <USERID>] [ecid: <ECID>] [APP: <APP-NAME>] [DSID: 0000Ky6h1hBEWN2_vp1FiX1LsxvH0000F8] unable to dispatch JSP page: The following exception occurred:.[[ javax.el.ELException: java.lang.ClassCastException: oracle.webcenter.content.integration.ContentType
