New 12c Directory Paths for Reports Configuration Files (Doc ID 2071812.1)

Last updated on APRIL 11, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Forms for OCI - Version 12.2.1.4.0 and later
Oracle Reports Developer - Version 12.2.1.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Purpose

Reports 12c no longer has notion of an ORACLE_INSTANCE directory, as it did in Reports 11gR1/R2. It is now contained within the Oracle_home and the Domain_Home directories. This document presents the 12c "key" file locations as compared to the previous 11g/10g disk hierarchy.

This note is based on directory structure:

Windows:

ORACLE_HOME=C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_Home
MW_HOME=C:\Oracle\Middleware
WL_HOME= C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_Home\wlserver
DOMAIN_HOME= C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_Home\user_projects\domains\base_domain

Unix:

ORACLE_HOME=/Oracle/Middleware/Oracle_Home
MW_HOME=/Oracle/Middleware
WL_HOME=/Oracle/Middleware/Oracle_Home/wlserver
DOMAIN_HOME=/Oracle/Middleware/Oracle_Home/user_projects/domains/base_domain

Note: In this example, reptools1 is the Reports Tools Instance name. This can be any name you choose when running createReportsToolsInstance.
