Contributor UI Menu/Button Displayed Without Translation Keys due to "Blocked loading mixed active content" to the /js/fw/sls/en-us.js file (Doc ID 2075788.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 02, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Sites - Version 11.1.1.8.0 to 11.1.1.8.0 [Release FatWire]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

1. In Contributor UI, see top menu as:

UI/Forms/Content    dvin/Common/Edit    dvin/Common/View

and the logout button as:

dvin/Common/Logout

2. See the following in browser console when loading the Contributor UI:

Blocked loading mixed active content "http://hostname/context/js/fw/sls/en-us.js"

but the actual URL in the browser was https://hostname/context/wem/fatwire/home?ticket=ST-...

3. The issue doesn't occur if accessing the UI over HTTP.

NOTE: If the symptom #1 is observed even with HTTP connection, look into the network trace and see if there's an issue loading the /js/fw/sls/en-us.js file.

Access http://host:port/context/ContentServer?pagename=fatwire/ui/util/GetSLSObj&user_locale=en-us to see what the URL is for loading the js file.

If there's a customized version of the fatwire/ui/util/GetSLSObj element, the request to the js file could've been tampered with.

Changes

The environment (application server) has a web server or a load balancer in the front set up with SSL offloading; that is: web server/LB (HTTPS) ---> application server (HTTP)
