OUD 11g / 12c - Can the Bundle Patch be Applied without Service Interruption?
(Doc ID 2100255.1)
Last updated on DECEMBER 29, 2022
Applies to:
Oracle Unified Directory - Version 11.1.2.2.1 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
The goal of this article is to clarify if an OUD bundle patch upgrade can be applied without service interruption
For example, upgrading version 11.1.2.2.1 by applying the bundle patch version 11.1.2.2.3 one instance at a time.
Is this strictly necessary or can each node be stopped, upgraded, and brought back up - one at a time?
In particular, will replication continue to work seamlessly between the OUD nodes if they are on different bundle patch versions?
The instructions in the OUD BP3 README do not cover information about upgrading multiple nodes without service interruption :
2. Stop all the Directory Server instances using the stop-ds command. For example:
Unix
[MW_HOME]//OUD/bin/stop-ds
Windows
[MW_HOME]\\OUD\bat\stop-ds.bat
