!csUnableToUndoCheckOut csIsNotCheckedOutError When Editing Content In Context From Content Presenter in WebCenter Portal (Doc ID 2103499.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 16, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.8.6 to 11.1.1.9.8 [Release 11g]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

A content presenter taskflow is added to a page in a space.  The datasource type is single node and points to a data file in UCM.  The presentation of the content in WebCenter Portal works fine.
The user enters the contribution mode (ctrl + shift + c) and clicks the edit icon. The site studio form is displayed. On clicking 'Save and Close' or 'Cancel' an 'Unable to undo checkout The content item is not currently checked out' error is thrown in UCM.
Following the trace shows the data file is never checked out which explains the error.

More importantly, a UCM error window pops up with no message inside. This does not always happen and there are no errors in the log other than 'Unable to undo checkout'.

Errors look like:
