!csUnableToUndoCheckOut csIsNotCheckedOutError when Editing Content In Context from Content Presenter in WebCenter Portal (Doc ID 2103499.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 25, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.8.6 to 11.1.1.9.8 [Release 11g]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

A Content Presenter task flow is added to a page in a space.  The datasource type is single node and points to a data file in WebCenter Content (WCC).  The presentation of the content in WebCenter Portal (WCP) works fine.
The user enters the contribution mode (ctrl + shift + c) and clicks the edit icon. The site studio form is displayed. On clicking 'Save and Close' or 'Cancel' an 'Unable to undo checkout The content item is not currently checked out' error is thrown in WCC.
Following the trace shows the data file is never checked out which explains the error.

More importantly, a WCC error window pops up with no message inside. This does not always happen and there are no errors in the log other than 'Unable to undo checkout'.

Errors look like:
