Symptoms

Oracle Internet Directory (OID) 11g 11.1.1.9.0 and 12c versions.

The OID alert log (e.g., alert01s<pid>-0000.log) shows this error messages intermittently:

Read from connection failed [PID:<PID#>][ConnID:264350][IP:<ipaddress>][RemPort:60661]
Read from connection failed [PID:<PID#>][ConnID:264465][IP:<ipaddress>][RemPort:50404]
Read from connection failed [PID:<PID#>][ConnID:265415][IP:<ipaddress>][RemPort:5286]
