Increasing xml logging to trace causes page rendering issues in Admin UI (Doc ID 2110654.1)

Symptoms

When increasing the Oracle Diagnostic Logging (ODL) logging for oracle.wcsites.xml to trace:1 or trace:16, Admin UI fails to render with onscreen error:

Failed to run template: OpenMarket/Xcelerate/Admin/CheckIsUserAdmin Illegal
attribute name action
Location: null(39,44)
Context:
Failed to run template:OpenMarket/Xcelerate/Admin/AdminMenu

with the following error in sites.log:

When user logs into WebCenter Sites again, the following onscreen error can be seen in Admin UI:

Unable to load /sites/ContentServer?treeid=genAdminTree&excludedTabs=&responseType=json&includedTabs=CSSystem:TreeTabs:Admin,CSSystem:TreeTabs:Workflow,CSSystem:TreeTabs:Mobility,CSSystem:TreeTabs:Connector+Admin,CSSystem:TreeTabs:Visitors+Admin&elementName=AdminUI/Data/Tree/Store&pagename=fatwire/ui/controller/controller status: 500
