Increasing xml logging to trace causes page rendering issues in Admin UI (Doc ID 2110654.1)

When increasing the Oracle Diagnostic Logging (ODL) logging for oracle.wcsites.xml to trace:1 or trace:16, Admin UI fails to render with onscreen error:

Failed to run template: OpenMarket/Xcelerate/Admin/CheckIsUserAdmin Illegal
attribute name action
Location: null(39,44)
Failed to run template:OpenMarket/Xcelerate/Admin/AdminMenu

with the following error in sites.log:

When user logs into WebCenter Sites again, the following onscreen error can be seen in Admin UI:

Unable to load /sites/ContentServer?treeid=genAdminTree&excludedTabs=&responseType=json&includedTabs=CSSystem%3ATreeTabs%3AAdmin%2CCSSystem%3ATreeTabs%3AWorkflow%2CCSSystem%3ATreeTabs%3AMobility%2CCSSystem%3ATreeTabs%3AConnector+Admin%2CCSSystem%3ATreeTabs%3AVisitors+Admin&elementName=AdminUI%2FData%2FTree%2FStore&pagename=fatwire%2Fui%2Fcontroller%2Fcontroller status: 500
