OUD11g - The "isMemberOf" Attribute is not Evaluated Correctly if the UserDN Contains a Comma (Doc ID 2123134.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 14, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Unified Directory - Version 11.1.2.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Consider a user entry where the RDN contains a comma (,) such as "cn=FIRST_NAME\, LASTNAME".

The DN for the user entry, therefore, looks like "cn=FIRST_NAME\, LASTNAME, ou=ad, ou=people,dc=SUFFIX_DN".

In the case where this user entry is a member of a static group (i.e. objectclass: groupOfUniqueNames)...

dn: cn=group 1,ou=groups,ou=ad,dc=SUFFIX_DN
objectclass: groupofuniquenames
cn: group 1
uniquemember: cn=FIRST_NAME\, LASTNAME, ou=people,ou=ad,dc=SUFFIX_DN

The calculation of the user's isMemberOf virtual attribute will not display the group membership.  The calculation of the isMemberOf virtual attribute is correct in all other scenarios tested.
