Random Service Call Failures When Calling An External Web Service From Tuxedo SALT Over HTTPS (Doc ID 2123233.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 07, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Service Architecture Leveraging Tuxedo (SALT) - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Under some circumstances, when calling an external Web Service over HTTPS the service call fails with error messages:

GWWS_CAT:109: ERROR: HTTPS error: Connection sending fails. Errcode = 28862.
GWWS_CAT:109: ERROR: HTTPS error: Connection to receive is not valid.

Circumstances:
- if the service is called non-stop in a loop, this problem doesn't occur;
- only when the call frequency drops below 1 service call every 15 seconds or so, then some of the calls fail.

For example, in a test,  20 service calls were run with 30 seconds between calls: at the end the result were 10 calls failing, 10 calls succeeding
