ODI Shows Session Running While Database Side Sessions Completed (Doc ID 2129410.1)

Symptoms

An Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) package containing many steps still shows as RUNNING in the ODI operator log after 2 hours, even though the process successfully completed on database. For example the package is hanging in step number 10, but the database side procedure for this step  is already finished.

There are no errors reported in the ODI Operator.
