When Using Application Domain "Session Idle Timeout" The User Session Is Prompted For Credentials Prematurely (Doc ID 2143468.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 14, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Access Manager - Version 11.1.2.3.5 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

OAM 11.1.2.3.5
OTD Webgate version 11.1.2.3.0 but can happen with other Webgate.  Internal testcase was done with OHS Webgate.

When using Application Domain session idle timeout the user session is prompted for credentials prematurely.

OAM global "session idle timeout" is set to 30 minutes and any app using the default setting is working just fine.

Another applications requires a longer idle timeout (1 hour). This new session idle timeout was set at the Application level to 60.

This custom value in fact works but it has the side effect that after exactly 60 minutes the user is shown the login page and have to reenter her credentials even if the user produced traffic throughout the session.
