Commit Text Option not Removing "<" and ">" Characters when "If filename consists of invalid characters; remove invalid characters" is Configured (Doc ID 2153468.1)

Last updated on APRIL 16, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Enterprise Capture - Version 11.1.1.8.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In the text commit driver, the username is used as a default value to populate a meta-data field value.  This username value is being used to populate the filename.  If a document was imported and indexed by the Import Processor the value committed to the tif filename contains the value "<anonymous>" (e.g. "abc_123_<anonymous>.tif").  This is an invalid filename on a Windows system which is where WebCenter Forms Recognition resides. we are using the last accessed user-id as part of the committed filename to pass an audit trail into WebCenter Forms recognition. The "Name document file based on metadata field values" setting is configured in the commit profile with the "If filename consists of invalid characters; remove invalid characters" option selected, but the "<" and ">" characters are still passed as part of the filename.
