Last updated on FEBRUARY 01, 2022

Applies to:

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

When accessing documents from WebCenter Portal, the following issues are observed:

Issue 1

The direct URLs of documents from a Portal are missing the internal id (guid) of the Portal.

The issue can be reproduced as follows:

  • Navigate to a Portal created before changing the UCM connection.

  • In the Document Page in the Portal select a document and then the "Get a Link" option.

  • Copy the URL to another browser.
You should see the document opens but in the user home space instead of the portal where the document belongs to.

Issue 2

The documents from the search results page are missing the Portal name / details for documents that were created before changing the UCM connection.

The issue can be reproduced as follows:

  • Search a document using the Search box from the banner WebCenter Portal.

  • Normally when you search documents you will see in the search results the documents show an icon indicating the documents belongs to a portal and it also shows the Portal name.
    This information is missing.

  • Click on the document link.
This should open a PopUp window with the file preview.

Normally you would see in the PopUp window that the document shows an "Open Portal" button.
    This button is missing.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

Expect that the document link of a document opens the document in the portal where the document was uploaded.

Also in search results we expect the document shows the portal icon and portal name where the document was uploaded and upon clicking the document link it is expected it has a button to open the portal.

Changes

This issue can be caused by any of the following changes or root cause:

Root Cause 1: Recreated the WebCenter Portal connection to content server

For example:

Root Cause 2: Manually changed the Security Group or Account fields for documents uploaded to a Portal
