Symptoms

Oracle Internet Directory (OID) 11g Server Chaining cannot bind or search remote Microsoft (MS) Active Directory (AD), no entries / values returned to either command line ldapsearch or Oracle Directory Services Manager (ODSM).

Binds and searches work from the OID server directly to AD, but not to OID server chained entries.

Searching for AD server chained entries return only one entry:
