Can the Sites 12.2.1.1.0 Upgrade Assistant be run Multiple Times to Move Updated Content? (Doc ID 2192827.1)

Goal

In the upgrade process from 11g to 12c release, in order to move updated content from the Sites 11g instance to the new Sites 12c instance, is it possible to execute the upgrade again?

For example, can we perform the upgrade and continue to use the "old" environment since the upgrade process is an out-of-place upgrade (11g env and 12c env)?
