API Gateway Oauth ERROR - Com.vordel.es.EntityStoreException: Cardinality Violation (Doc ID 2193459.1)

Symptoms

Using OAG version 11.1.2.4.0 (Service Pack 4), an API Gateway is configured to use the RDBMS for KPS data including Oauth.
The following error is occurring in the trace files:

com.vordel.es.EntityStoreException: Cardinality violation - field [xxx]

The xxx is replaced by many different values, such as [passwordType] [MaxIdle] [user] [name] [url] etc.

This is seen each time the Oauth purge process is run.
